At the turning point of this year, I felt change was dominant in the air. An abundance of people circling around me, were tampering closer to exploring their higher truths. A sudden shift in extreme changes, I’ve noticed. From our engaged neighbors across the hall, splitting ways after 2 years, to my corporate colleague dropouts, risking a fine paycheck to get things powering for themselves, f0r a change. A change is happening. Where it sways, or what it pushes, is only to be seen, but I can feel it, everywhere around me. Can you?
Recently, I have been incredibly inspired by people doing their own thing. Being four months now, sol prop, in the game, I can appreciate an eager entrepreneur, wanting to connect, with a vision to carry out in this world. From the booming startup scene, to the indie and mainstream, I have observed great strides in examining new products, better executions, stronger visions. But not just in business, I mean, have people even began thinking about the mental inception taking place in film directors’ minds, like Lars Von Tries’ latest film, Melancholia?! The story of a planet heading for Earth, a “fly-by” they called it. The fly-by came, and without spoiling the film to those inexperienced of it, the film’s atheistic POV, left an unsettling disposition in my gut. The world, the Earth, the market, the mind, the body. We all are reacting to the shifts now in ever more pragmatic ways.
It might just be a bubble I am living in, but seems as though folks that don’t belong where they are, are getting quickly ejected out of their environments, with grace or not necessarily, and folks that have made the shift in the recent past, are already seeing the positive from their situation. It feels like 2012 will be a kind of “Startup Year” for many.
I look forward to the challenges of my 1st year as a solo entrepreneur, in my flower design business, Flower Details. The best thing is, being out there, all alone, you realize the world of folks out there in the field, right next to you. The support you get when you are following your own truth is something worth taking a risk for.
Have a great year wherever it may take you.
Inspiring Quote & Video Thought of the Day with Milton Glaser:
“You must embrace failure. You must admit what is. You must find out what you’re capable of doing, and what you’re not capable of doing. That is the only way to deal with the issue of success and failure because otherwise you simply would never subject yourself to the possibility that you’re not as good as you want to be, hope to be, or as others think you are.”
